The Metropolitan Riveters are exiting the NWHL bubble in Lake Placid, New York due to Covid-19 concerns. A day after being removed from the schedule due to health and safety protocols sources report the team will not return for the remainder of the 2021 season.

A formal announcement and schedule revilement is expected Thursday afternoon. This will bring the league to 5 teams battling for the Isobel Cup. The Riveters are currently in 3rd place with a 2-1 record through 3 games.
