The 2019/2020 Ontario Junior (A) Hockey League season is underway with all teams playing at least one game through the first week. The newest additions to the league have had opposite starts to their seasons, while returning teams begin the long lasting rivalries from past years.

The Milton Menace did not get off to the start they were hoping for over their opening two games of the year. A fight to the end for Milton who dropped their home opener in front of a sell out crowd. The following game didn’t produce a better result leaving the Menace 0-2 to start their inaugurals season.

The other new addition is the Collingwood Colts and they have seen much better fortunes to start their inaugural season. A win in Trenton to start off the season was followed by another win in Stouffville on Sunday. The Colts catapult themselves to the top of the standings with multiple players recording multi point games. Collingwood is ready to host the Toronto Jr Canadiens on Friday night for their home opener.
The rest of the league is getting underway just as they would any other season. Undefeated teams in the OJHL up to date include: Collingwood Colts (2-0), Markham Royals (1-0), Burlington Cougars (3-0), Georgetown Raiders (2-0), Oakville Blades (1-0), Cobourg Cougars (2-0), Wellington Dukes (2-0).

As for the scoring in the league to open the season well there has been plenty of that. With the Burlington Cougars already putting up 10 goals in a game and the Trenton GoldenHawks did the same in Lindsay. Your Scoring Leaders In The OJHL Are:

The second week is set to begin this weekend and there will be plenty of movement in the standings and scoring leaders races. Lots of action to follow as the season ramps up with the showcase this month, being held in Buffalo at the Harbor Center.
